The event provides a forum for scientists, engineers, directors of companies and students in the field of Nanotechnology to meet and share their knowledge.  The scientific program paves a way to gather collaborations through research talks and presentations, and features cutting edge nanotechnology research and applications, and assists in shaping the future of materials science, biomedicine and nanotechnology.

“It will be a great opportunity to share our work at Louisiana Tech and learn about the work being done across the United States, Europe and the Far East,” says Mills.  “For Chris and Sonali, it will be a great opportunity to present their research and experience an international scientific meeting.”

Karnik will deliver an oral and poster presentation titled, “Nanoclay Tubes as Containers for the Delivery of Bioactive Molecules and Enhancement of Material Properties of Tissue Engineering Scaffolds” and “Pleiotrophin Loaded Halloysite Nanotubes Act as an Osteogenic Differentiating Agent.”

Boyer will present a poster, “Polyelectrolyte Coated Clay Nanotubes with pH Controlled Release.”

Mills was part of the executive committee that planned and organized the committee and will be a featured speaker, presenting a talk on “Clay Nanotubes in Bone Tissue Engineering.” He will also serve as co-chair for the session on “Nanotechnology in Medicine.”
