Louisiana Tech initiative provides opportunities for new businesses to flourish
Entrepreneurs striving to develop and grow innovative business enterprises in 2015 are invited to participate in Louisiana Tech University’s I-20 Corridor Regional Accelerator initiative, which provides training, coaching and networking opportunities that facilitates strong and steady progress for new business ventures.
Beginning January 13, meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. every other Tuesday in University Hall on the Louisiana Tech campus. The sessions are free, but space is limited and applicants must provide a summary of their proposed venture to be considered for program enrollment.
Instruction on proven techniques, coaching throughout the startup process, assistance with funding needs and sources, and access to valuable resources is provided during the program sessions. Accelerator participants are also connected with experienced executives, business professionals, coaches, peers and potential customers to create a viable business model. Each entrepreneur is assisted with establishing and implementing actions which move the venture forward and position the business for success.
The I-20 Corridor Regional Accelerator is effective for individuals assessing the feasibility of business opportunities, entrepreneurs preparing to launch new enterprises and existing ventures expanding their operations. Past participants are achieving success and continuing to grow. In 2014, one accelerator graduate secured over $1 million in funding, grew revenue by 80 percent and increased its workforce from 14 to 29 employees. Other graduates have continued developing their businesses, received loans, secured equity investment, licensed products, increased revenue and expanded capacity.
