Mar 9, 2016 | General News

All Louisiana Tech University campuses, including Tech-Barksdale and the Shreveport Center, will remain closed on Thursday, March 10 as a result of continued flooding and dangerous travel conditions throughout north Louisiana.
Department heads will again notify essential personnel required to work during the closure. Basic services for students remaining on-campus during the closure will be provided.
Louisiana Tech’s Emergency Response Team will continue to monitor weather conditions throughout the closure and will post updates to campus schedules and operations via the Emergency Response Team website (http://ert.latech.edu), campus email, Emergency Notification System text messages, social media sites, and media advisories.
At the recommendation of the National Weather Service and public safety agencies throughout the region, Louisiana Tech’s Emergency Response Team is STRONGLY RECOMMENDING that students, faculty and staff refrain from traveling during this weather event, unless absolutely necessary. If travel is required, please exercise extreme caution and stay alert to weather forecasts and conditions. Flash flood watches and warning remain in effect throughout the region as heavy rain and the potential for strong thunderstorms continue to occur.
If on-campus assistance is needed, students and faculty/staff should contact Louisiana Tech Police at 257-4018. Otherwise, assistance can be reached by calling the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office at 255-5111 or Ruston Police or 255-4141. Those needing emergency assistance should always call 9-1-1.
