ExxonMobil’s Troy O’Laughlin, a 1999 chemical engineering alumnus from Louisiana Tech’s College of Engineering and Science alumnus, presented the check to Louisiana Tech President Les Guice, College of Engineering and Science Dean Hisham Hegab and College of Education Dean Don Schillinger.

The check represents corporate funds from ExxonMobil matching gifts made to Louisiana Tech by ExxonMobil employees during 2016.  The employee gifts provide general support to the Colleges of Engineering and Science and Education as well as designated gifts to specific degree programs, endowed scholarships and student projects.

“We appreciate ExxonMobil’s generous support to the College of Engineering and Science,” Hegab said. “Support from corporate partners like ExxonMobil enables us to provide exceptional learning experiences for our students to prepare them to be leaders in industry.”

ExxonMobil’s Educational Matching Gift Program is intended to encourage giving to higher education by employees. ExxonMobil provides a generous 3-to-1 match on employee gifts of up to $7,500 to higher education each year for a combined donation of up to $30,000.
