This classic romantic comedy, filled with seduction, courtship, love and heartbreak, is presented by the Louisiana Tech Concert Association in conjunction with , one of the foremost producers of touring classical theater in the United States. An Aquila production visits 50-to-60 American cities a year.
Jane Austen is one of the most popular and beloved authors of all time. Born in the late 18th century, she wrote with great insight and wit about the lives of the English upper middle class. Her characters seem to drift through the inescapable life of leisure that only privilege can afford, yet they are forever negotiating the reality of birthright and custom. “Sense and Sensibility” poignantly and cleverly illustrates the effects of economic uncertainty brought about by the common practice of the first-born male inheriting entire family fortunes, often leaving the rest of the family to fend for themselves.
